When is Arkansas Boys State?

We’ll be in session May 30 – June 4, 2021 — virtually due to COVID-19. This year marks the 80th session of our program. Learn more about COVID-19 impacts on our program: www.arboysstate.org/covid19.

How much does it cost?

Tuition for the virtual program is $100 per delegate, but delegates shouldn’t worry about the cost. Your school, a local American Legion Post, or a local business will sponsor your attendance at Arkansas Boys State.

Am I eligible to attend Arkansas Boys State?

If you are a male student currently in your junior year, you’re eligible to attend Arkansas Boys State. Usually, your school or local American Legion Post will nominate students to attend our program; if you are interested in attending, please contact your high school counselor or administrator.

Because our 2020 program was canceled, we’re also opening registration to students who would have attended in 2020 — male students in the graduating class of 2021. These students won’t be able to run for certain positions (like Boys Nation Senator), but our program will still offer a premier leadership and civic engagement experience. If you’re a student who missed out on our 2020 program and want to attend in 2021, contact your high school counselor or administrator.

More questions about your eligibility? Contact your school counselor or administration or our staff for more information: info@arboysstate.org.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What role does my guardian play in the registration process?

You can and should complete the registration process by yourself to ensure you’re most familiar with the program. That being said, your guardian needs to virtually sign the Universal Permission Form located inside registration.

Do I make payment for Arkansas Boys State when I register?

Typically, your school district or local American Legion Post make payment for your attendance at Arkansas Boys State; a member of your school staff should address this with you. You’ll need to indicate who is sponsoring you in your online registration.

What if my school isn't listed in the registration portal?

If your school is not listed in the registration portal, you can choose “OTHER” and manually input your school name. A member of our staff will verify your attendance at that school.

If you are homeschooled, choose “HOMESCHOOL.”
